Focusing on the MENTAL HEALTH component of the New York State Health Curriculum

Dear School Psychologist Colleagues,

Below is our flyer for an upcoming program on the New York State mandated Mental Health Curriculum.  It's important that you make every effort to attend this program.

You DO want a voice in implementing it.
You DON'T want other school personnel making these decisions without you.

NCPA psychologists played a large role in the implementation of Learning Disabilities policy and practice years ago by stepping into the legislative process early.  Now is our chance to shape this policy and program.

We're hoping you will attend this program and then become a part of a small group of us who will meet a few times a year to promote the school psychologist's role in shaping this curriculum.

Please join us.  Come to this half-day meeting.  Take a leadership role. Become the school professional whose mission is improving your students' mental health.

Please prioritize Wednesday morning, March 14, 8:30-11:30 to promote yourself, not only as an evaluator, but as an essential component of Mental Health education in the schools.

Step forward now! Please RSVP if you are interested in joining us in this endeavor.

Best wishes,
Maxine M. Marcus, Ph.D.
President, Nassau County Psychological Association
